Built for agencies, publishers, and stores drowning in uploads

Your Media Library isn't a library. It's a date-sorted junk drawer.

WP Media Directories is a WordPress plugin that adds physical folders to the native Media Library. Folders are real directories under your site's upload basedir—not virtual tags. Editors browse All media, Unassigned, and nested Folders in grid, list, and the attachment modal, with safe moves and disk reconcile.

WordPress files everything into year/month paths. Virtual folder plugins stick labels in the database while the server stays chaos. Separate media managers force a second UI your editors won't live in.

From messy uploads to a folder tree

Four steps. No second media product to learn.

  1. 01Install & open Media → Library
  2. 02Create Folders; upload or drag files in
  3. 03Move with Fast or Rewrite; Sync when disk changes

Virtual folders organize labels. WP Media Directories organizes files.

Fair comparison. Pick the model that matches how your team works—and how your server stores files.
